2002 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster
The 2002 Ford Thunderbird is a two-seat convertible roadster designed and engineered with Fords newest rear-wheel-drive car technologies. With a 107.2-inch wheelbase and wide, 72.0-inch stance, the car is engineered from the outset to be a convertible. Thus, the chassis was specially designed for increased rigidity to give the driver a responsive and balanced ride, handling and steering. It also has a nearly perfect, 50-50 front-to-rear weight distribution. The Thunderbird is powered by a 3.9-liter 32-valve DOHC V8 engine mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. It features an independent rear suspension, variable rack-and-pinion steering, and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. It also includes 17 wheels and P235/50VR17 tires. Standard equipment includes dual front and side air bags, leather trimmed seats with optional accent color, six-way power drivers seat, 15-inch leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel with convenience controls, and AM/FM radio with integrated 6-disc CD changer. Securilock passive anti-theft system, speed-sensitive windshield wipers, and a perimeter anti-theft system are also included. In addition to the color-keyed convertible top, the car also features a removable top with glass portholes.
